Halloween!

I apparently did not take as many halloween pictures as I originally imagined...
But a little bit I blame Gooby for sleeping through the entire event! In her defense it was cold, she was snuggly warm in her monkey suit and we drove 20 minutes to get there. Here is the monkey without her hood up... I should get another picture of it soon.
Here is Link! The brave elf warrior!
Ready for anything! But mostly, ready for candy!
 insert sword noise here
Once we parked at the library, D noticed that the sign had been yarnbombed!
Link off on the first adventure of the evening to collect the spoils!
We had a great time, even though it was technically a few days later than Halloween, and it was chilly.

Hallo-winter storm

We were blessed with a crazy snow-storm on October 29th... just two days before Halloween - 12+ inches of heavy wet snow. I was mostly at work while it was coming down, but I left at the perfect time because just as I was coming home the town fire department was clearing our road. Within a half hour, it was practically impassable again.
We were without power for 6.5 days, 139 hours.... some seriously long hours. But I probably got more sleep during that week than I have in a while. I also had to work during the power outage, and it was rough going with two little monkeys, no heat, and no real cooking. Thankfully our neighbor (who went to stay at her parents) brought over a camp stove so we could cook. Perhaps we will invest in one soon...

This was our road on Sunday morning... and then the road was "closed" until Wednesday because of a huge tree and power lines down.
Here is D on the deck cutting up the tree that fell... gallon of milk and saw in hand!
The bulk of the tree is still lying on the ground with some branch parts extending up - the squirrels love it, it's like a highway to them!

Snow means playtime and snow people!
Daddy and Ky working on something big...
Snow fort! It lasted longer than the one from last year, but unfortunately melted in a few days
Goobs taking a break near the pumpkins at our neighbor's steps
A snow man, his snow house and a snow cat!
Goob trying to get the giraffe toy out of the snow
It's a lot of work, especially when you have mitten hands

In the end, the storm gave us some family time and allowed me to super clean out the fridge...
Here's Uncle A chilling, no seriously it was cold and chilly....
We're glad that we have power back now.

Yogurt!

This is just a little look into the skills of Goobs and the spoon... super cute! Also there is a longer video (so I can't post it here, which is on my flickr)

Riding! and Crunching!

This is about the speed that we were riding most of the time, Ky's a trooper - 14+ miles, 7 hours (counting the entire time including any that we stopped for breaks/lunch) This gets a little shaky near the end, but we were on the super cool bridge!

Columbus Day Ride

Columbus sailed the ocean blue, but we decided to ride the trail instead, since we don't have a boat...
D's Bike is the red one, Uncle A's bike is the blue one, and Ky's bike has the white tires and white seat, peeking out.
This is my bike, with S's trailer attached. There is a baby blanket laid over the screen area just to block the sun for a few minutes because....guess what?

Goobs was sleeping!! It looks super uncomfortable with her head resting on the cup of snacks, but really it was barely touching, she's on a lump of blankets

D was so happy that I was taking pictures...
Ky didn't mind her picture during lunch!
Goob was trying to kiss the camera!

The girls took a break at our destination - Look Park (North Hampton, MA) from a starting point in East Hadley. Total trip was 14+ miles (Me, S, and Ky) while D and Uncle A had a little extra because they went further down to go to a bike shop.

Top photo, Ky swinging with Uncle A, and Goobs did not like this particular swing...

Some of the leaves there were huge, like I'm not joking, bigger than Ky's face!

 Big one!
 Crunch Crunch Crunch
 Squash!

Getting ready to head back... Uncle A
Gooby ready to roll, she was set with snacks!
Ky showing love for her bike and a new surprise on her bike...

CHEESE!

Mama on the bridge, and some pretty pictures Ky took while we were on the bridge.
We had a great time (it stinks that cold weather is coming, but we hope to ride again before the snow~!)

So beautiful!

Apple Picking and other Fall Activities

Hello everyone, We have been getting ready for fall with some exciting activities (as well as our regular boring ones, school, work, house cleaning ;)

Here's me and Goobs to tell you all about what's going on!

We made some tasty cookies!

Domo backpack, courtesy of Auntie T, got a handle. He gets hung up at school sometimes and Ky said that he is wonky to hang by the straps, ha ha

One of our most favorite fall activities - apple picking!!

This one comes with extra leaves!
D and I at the orchard!
Baby S with an apple, though she wasn't impressed at first.

Ky had a friend, T sleep over at our house! Often Ky has slept over at T's house, but this time he stayed here. They had a great time, even though some of the activities were limited because T's hand is broken :(
Mostly we stayed inside to play Legos and more Legos, but in the morning we ventured out for golf and some swinging!
This picture is kind of far, but you get the idea, kids, swings, back & forth...

I hope that you enjoyed this little peek, we've been busy for the past few weeks, but mostly the routine boring stuff - school, work... <3

Magnets and walking!

Baby S is a good walker now, with only occasionally tumbles. Usually there are toys to blame, or blankies, but sometimes she is just tired and down she goes. Most falls are pretty graceful with limited crying. Last night I let her walk around in the kitchen and play with the magnets...

Blogger won't let me upload the video... so I have uploaded it to flickr video because they let me put a video that is 90 seconds... my video is 89 seconds - eek! Barely made it, but it is super cute. She walks over to her high chair (which is in the middle of the room temporarily) and hides the x, and I particularly like when she wants to pick up the magnet that fell but she realizes that her hands are full - so cute! I hope that you enjoy the video, sorry for the hassle of posting it somewhere else, I guess I need to take shorter videos ;)

Pajama Picnic and Violet

S's birthday was stretched out over several days, which works out well when you are only one. She wasn't overwhelmed with toys or activities all on one day.
Thanks to Auntie D and Uncle R ~ we got a new picnic basket!

Sometimes Goobs climbs on top of the picnic...
But baby Brina does a good job eating her cheese and crackers!

Stop mom, no pictures together, I'm outta here!

We also got Violet, a leap frog dog!
At first she was just poking violet very gently, to no effect...
so I helped her to press the paws...
Success! She loves her! Her favorite way to press the paw buttons is to bounce on top of the dog with her booty ~ silly baby!

Our other favorite outdoor activity is swinging...
